The Bunny Hat
I forgot to post this with the other one! I LOVE hats for babies, and this was a handmade one I got talked into decided to buy. I haven't had a chance to see if it fits, but I'm sure it will be perfect!
Carytown Consignments
Warning: This post will only be interesting to me. :)
Today Jessica and I headed to Carytown because I was on the HUNT for an Easter outfit for Emmett. I had found one at Cracker Barrel of all places that would have worked, but I wasn't in love with it. Here's the one I got from CB.

Cute, but not perfect. I had settled on this one after I had looked at Gymboree, Old Navy, Macy's, Dillards, Sears, JCPenney, Crazy 8, Kids Grow, Goodwill, a small consignment shop called Giggle Me Green, and Buttons and Bows. All of those places except Buttons and Bows have cute little sweater vests, but that's not what I wanted. I wanted the super-cute-make-you-want-to-squeal reaction, and I just wasn't getting it. Buttons and Bows had some if I wanted to spend a car payment, but I couldn't justify that for an outfit that he'll have a blow-out in, if history repeats itself.
So I headed to Clover, a consignment shop in Carytown that specializes in upscale children's clothes. They had some really cute clothes, and I found one that I LOVE. It may be a little big, but I think it'll work.
I wanted smocking and bunnies, but I settled for super cute bunnies that make me squeal. :) I know, I know, it doesn't take much...All of that for an outfit he's going to wear ONCE. Oh well, I had a great time today, got to spend time with some handsome young men and a super hot mama, got some DELICIOUS frozen yogurt, and found a really cute second outfit at the Goodwill on Cary.
All in all, a successful shopping trip!

The After
I am DONE with the attic! WOO!! It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought, except for putting one of those shelves together by myself. Now that the futon is out of there, it's so spacious. I could fit a whole bunch more crap up there! Anyway, as promised to my one reader (challah!!), here is the AFTER picture.

Ta-Da!!
I am finally doing it. I'm jumping into the blog world! I figured I'd give this a shot as a way to document what's going in our lives, as I am temporally-challenged according to Greg. I can't remember what we did for our first anniversary or what I did last week, for that matter. However, I CAN find my way out of a box unlike some people. ::cough cough, GREG, cough cough::
So my first trick...
I decided to clean out our attic. I have gotten into a mood lately where I can't stand clutter. Perhaps it's the baby toys all over the den ALL THE TIME or the continuous mess in my classroom that I didn't make. I recently tackled the mess under the bathroom sinks which tends to be where we stick stuff if company is coming. Ninety-five cent bins from Big Lots solved that problem easily enough. Since the weather was beautiful yesterday, I figured what better day to stay inside a dark place and work. It was actually perfect because a nice breeze was blowing through the attic and it wasn't too hot or too cold. There really are only a few good days for working in a place with little ventilation.
I consolidated, I stacked, I used my two new Target shelves (a steal at $34.99 each), and I cleaned my little heart out. We decided to sell the futon and a printer cart that were collecting dust up there, and if I'm lucky, that will pay for my new shelves. Here's the before (notice the half-inch walk space):
Once I get the futon out of the attic, I will post pictures of the after. I am so happy with how it turned out.
